David has been the Chief Executive of SheffCare since July 2007. SheffCare is a registered charity which provides residential, day and short-term care to over 800 older people throughout the city of Sheffield. Prior to his appointment at SheffCare, his previous roles have included being the managing director of Enterprise 5 Housing Association and an Operations Director with the learning disability charity CARE.
David is a Board member of Sheffield First which is the ‘local strategic partnership’ for the City of Sheffield and the Quality Care Partnership which is an employer led organisation providing specialist workforce planning and brokerage services throughout the South Yorkshire region.
David graduated from Northumbria University with an MBA with commendation in 2003 and was subsequently invited to be a visiting fellow to the University. He has a particular interest in the needs of people with dementia and recently chaired an advisory group overseeing research by Edinburgh University looking at the best ways to deliver services for people with learning disabilities and dementia.
