This response to the Care Quality Commission (CQC) Consultation 2: Our next phase of regulation (published June 2017) is submitted by the National Care Forum (NCF).
The NCF is the leading representative body for not-for-profit health and social care providers in the United Kingdom. Membership of the NCF reflects the wide diversity of care and support services provided by the not-for-profit sector. NCF membersí collectively support thousands of care users and provide care services in every local authority area.
for further information and a full list of our members. Please note that NCF members have been encouraged to respond directly to CQC on this consultation.
In preparing this response it has not possible to reflect each memberís circumstances as they do vary - this is particularly the case with regard to how CQC define providers and improve structure of registration. In addition to this response members have been encouraged to submit their own responses.
NCF have not responded to the questions in relation to Primary Medical Services. However NCF would like to see members consulted when Primary Medical Services are inspected as we are advised that their views are not requested when local inspections take place.
NCF actively engages with CQC throughout the year via the ASC Co-Production meetings; the ASC Trade Association meetings and CQC Cross Sector Advisory Group.
