Equal Dignity for All? Call for stories

11 September 2017

Elaine Cobb, from The Salvation Army is organising a fringe event at the forthcoming Conservative Party Conference. 'Equal Dignity for All? - The Future of Adult Social Care' will be held in the Friends Meeting House, Manchester at 12 noon on Monday 2 October. Overall, The Salvation Army are seeking to re-frame the debate on the future of adult social care to focus sharply on the needs of the poorest older citizens in our society.

They are looking to highlight the experience of older people (and their loved ones) entering residential care and having to rely on local authority funding. They want to present an experiential perspective rather than the usual cold pounds, shillings and pence. Elaine will be speaking for 10 minutes, alongside Reform and hopefully one of the ministers.

To this end they are seeking stories. If you can help please do contact them directly no later than 22 September, please. You can reach them at: Mark.scoulding@salvationarmy.org.uk & Elaine.cobb@salvationarmy.org.uk
