NCF opens their unique international and UK focused care conference

13 April 2018

NCF opens their unique international and UK focused care conference in partnership with CommonAge.

From the 16th to the 18th April 2018, the NCF and CommonAge will welcome delegates from 23 countries to Reading, UK to focus on shared agendas around Ageing. This excellent opportunity to share learning from across the globe comes under the banner of ‘Ageing in Common’.

Vic Rayner says:-

“We are delighted that we have been able to bring together such a diverse range of delegates and speakers to highlight the key agenda of Ageing. It is clear that there is huge interest in understanding how the changing demography across the globe will impact all communities, and this conference provides a time critical opportunity to learn from each other and share experiences and understanding to enhance care for all parts of society.”

In addition, the conference is looking at social care reform across the UK. The National Care Forum has brought together an expert panel with speakers from England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Vic Rayner says of this:-

“We are very pleased to provide an opportunity for all the countries across the UK to be represented together to look at key challenges and opportunities in social care including funding, workforce, regulation and models of provision. We see this as a critical chance to shine a light on social care policy across the UK and to formulate key questions and response that will inform future reform agendas across the UK.”

Ageing in Common is being run in partnership with CommonAge, the Commonwealth Association for the Ageing. During the event, CommonAge are hosting the inaugural Commonwealth Elders Forum. Vic says of the partnership:-

“This has been an excellent opportunity for the NCF and our not-for-profit members to work with such a dynamic organisation committed to raising the profile of Ageing. NCF believe that there are huge benefits to be gained from working with international partners and ensuring that our UK care sector can learn from and share expertise with leading care proponents from across the globe”
