Cornwall Care puts on its sunnies for National Sunglasses Day

9 July 2018

Residents and staff from Woodland celebrated National Sunglasses Day by sitting in their lovely garden and wearing silly sunglasses.

National Sunglasses Day is held each year on 27 June. It was set up by The Vision Council who wanted to share how important it is to wear ultraviolet (UV)-protective sunwear and eyewear.

Not all sunglasses have UV protection and since UV protection is crucial to shielding eyes from damaging radiation, it is imperative to look for a label, sticker or tag indicating this protection before purchasing a pair of sunglasses.

The sun was shining (which makes a nice change for Cornwall) and a delicious picnic lunch was enjoyed by all that took part.

To make the day even more fun, Cornwall care set up a taste challenge game.

"We had a brilliant singalong and enjoyed other games in the garden. It was such a lovely day and everybody enjoyed themselves as you can see by the smiles on their faces."
