Pop-up affordable art gallery raises money for charity in Surrey

9 July 2018

A pop-up art gallery has raised money for a charity in Surrey by offering affordable pieces of art to the community.

The gallery showcased the fantastic range of work from customers at Surrey Choices who have a range of disabilities.

The exhibition raised £300 which will help The Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance Trust, who operate 24 hours a day, ensuring they can be there for the most critically ill and injured people in the region.

Jessica Williams, Marketing and Communications Manager for Surrey Choices, said: “It’s all about celebrating who we are as creative individuals and making what we do accessible and available to everyone.

“We hope that the exhibition has inspired others to embrace their own creativity.”

“The Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance Trust rely almost entirely on donations and fundraising, and without this they wouldn’t be able to continue their life-saving work, so I’m glad our donations are able to help with this.

The Mayor of Banstead, Cllr. Dorothy Ross-Tomlin, officially opened the gallery on Monday, July 2.

Surrey Choices provides support services in the community for people with learning, mental, physical or sensory disability and offers a wide range of day and community services, including supported employment and training and skills enhancement for people aged 18 upwards.
