Speaking on the ceremony, Chief Executive, Jane Townson said: “Our heartfelt thanks go to all our staff for their passion, commitment and dedication to those we serve. Thanks to the internet and social media, we now live in a highly connected and transparent world. Organisations are like glass boxes. People outside can easily see what’s going on inside. To be successful, we need to create a company we’re happy for the world to see through; one with great values and great systems, put into practice by exceptional people, who are happy at work. Our annual staff awards event celebrates some of the exceptional people we have in Somerset Care. It’s my favourite event of the year, as we hear numerous stories of extraordinary kindness, compassion and service, which illustrate how we’re fulfilling our mission to enhance quality of life and promote independence of older and disabled people. We would be delighted for the world to see what these exceptional people do day in and day out.”
