The Department of Health & Social Care is in the process of producing short 2-3 minute video
case studies documenting care workers and those who receive care. Click here for an
example of one it has produced.
It is looking to produce more of these videos so it can
showcase the variety across the adult social care. In particular, it would like
to film people who work in adult social care across all ages, all ethnicities
and both male and female, who:
1. Can talk about how they have made a big impact on a care
recipient’s life/lives – and in the same video, film the care recipient(s)
talking about that member of staff. This would ideally be in a residential care
2. Can talk about their personal life and how the
flexibility of the job fits around this. It would like to film them in
their home environment as well as work – this being in a residential care home.
3. Can talk about the variety of work that they do in their
role in a residential care home.
4. Can give an overview of the training opportunities
they’ve been offered/done, how they’ve used their transferable skills in their
role, and how they’ve learnt new skills – either in a residential or
domiciliary care setting.
Do you want to be involved? Are you able to talk to the Department about participating in a video talking
about one of the topics above? Ideally within the South East region as
the video team is based in London and can travel.
If you are interested please do contact : firstname.lastname@example.org
say you are an NCF member and it would be useful to cc Vic Rayner (email@example.com)
and Sharon Blackburn (firstname.lastname@example.org)
into your response
In case people don’t want to participate in a video but
would still like to send in a shorter case study (e.g. a blog), that’s also be
fine – please could you / volunteers contact: email@example.com
and they’ll be contacted.
